Great fish and chips. Crispy batter but flakey fish. Good portion size and friendly folks.

Only recently been coming here, one of our new favourites, really nice food.

Best fish & chips in Hereford! Tried everywhere for our Friday lunch fish & chips until I went here a year ago. Been there most Fridays ever since and it's always been superb. Great, friendly staff too. I won't go anywhere else.

Fish and chips for us is a rare treat, however we have recently been here twice for their fish and chips , this really is my new favourite chippy, the fish is tastier than most I’ve had because it’s cooked perfectly and chips are lovely quality and have always been hot when we get them home, I really do rate these highly, I am Very impressed

It’s the second time my partner and I have visited the College Green, since the change of management (in the last couple of weeks). Our first order was small chips, large fish, mushy peas, cheesy chips and a sausage. Our second order was 3 x small chips, large fish and mushy peas. Our initial impression when entering the premises, is that hygiene and presentation must be of upmost priority, without appearing clinical or having an unpleasant aromatic cleanliness. On both occasions, we found very little food on display or a distinct smell. Our fish was made to order on both occasions (which I would prefer every time), and was politely informed it would take several minutes to cook. I find the couple genuinely friendly and polite, with a balanced amount of professionalism and customer focus. The quality of the fish and chips have been second to known! The chips have been consistent in freshness, crispness and flavour. Whilst the chips can appear large in statue, they are still nice and fluffy inside, with a great crunch. My partner had to remind me on acquiring the small portions of chips, because they are very generous with one’s portions. Whilst I generally share my takeaway food with my partner, she eats very little, and therefore often eat the majority, and was concerned initially that I would not finish eating the large portions of chips, as I do not like waste. However, I had eaten all. Whilst I was fully content with the amount, I was longer for more! The fish quality and size, was excellent on both orders. Like the chips, the fish did not appear greasy. Just seems to have the right amount of batter and seasoning, whilst golden! The fish seems of a high quality, tasty and not over fishy. You automatically have your food packaged nicely in the bag. They just seem to provide a consistent standard of service and quality of food, and that is why I am somewhat perplexed with the comments. Whilst I am not trying to discredit the other reviews, I have no issue with addressing, when I feel dissatisfied or injustice towards my hard earn money, regardless if it is just a £1 I have spent. I am very happy with the quality of food and customer service, and therefore after several months of not purchasing from the College Green, I will be once again making it my go to local chip shop! It is a vast improvement on the other staff, as opposed to management which was a lovely friendly gentleman who previously owned it, and I use to look forward to seeing him in his shirt and tie :).

Absolutely big white flakes of cod, really good portion of chips, staff really nice and polite and willing to help
